Perfume Review: Coffee Woman, O Boticário

Coffee Woman, fragrância par de Coffee Man, ambos inspirados pelo café tem o apelo sensual ambarado e abaunilhado de perfumes mais gustativos, embora pertença à família floral oriental. O perfume foi criado pelo perfumista Hernán Figoli para mulheres com forte personalidade e sensuais e abre um floral  adocicado e intenso com uma combinação realçada pela nota exclusiva de café por O Boticário, o Coffee Arabica.

A abertura não é tão dominada pelo frescor cítrico da bergamota, logo os tons frutais dominam muito mais com o imediato aspecto floral gourmet de notas como flor de laranjeira, café, âmbar e baunilha. Muito rapidamente, me vêm à memória o cheiro de fragrâncias clássicas da Victoria's Secret como Amber Romance e Rapture, principalmente Amber Romance que leva nota de creme inglês e toques de sândalo e baunilha que "dialogam" com o tipo de base ardente, aditiva e cremosa de destacado cheiro ambarado que leva Coffee Woman. 

Este desejo de enfiar o nariz dentro de uma bebida cremosa e quente de café com leite, baunilha, açucar e outros ingredientes gustativos e deliciosamente aromáticos faz de Coffee Woman, para o meu olfato, similar a perfumes como Amber Romance, muito por conta do creme inglês que mistura nuances de baunilha e o cheiro viciante do leite açucarado, imediatamente retomando este aspecto gourmet da bebida café servida em receitas variadas em grandes Cafeterias. 

Mais à frente, no drydown,  Coffee Woman perde o tom muito adocicado do começo e fica um pouco mais leve em razão das nuances florais, apesar que ainda é uma fragrância marcante com uma flor marcante - a flor de laranjeira que, particulamente, não atua em sua melhor performance olfativa para equilibrar a carga de notas ambaradas, abaunilhadas e amadeiradas que ainda são enjoativas.

Coffee Woman, assim como a versão masculina, deixou a desejar na nota de café e também por levar uma reminiscência muito próxima de perfumes ambarados popularmente conhecidos. Além disso, comparando ambos, o perfume feminino é mais linear com menos variedade de nuances, menos ritmo, menos encanto. Para aquelas(es) que apreciam fragrâncias com o estilo de VS Amber Romance, irão adorar borrifar este cafezinho sobre a pele. Eu ainda prefiro borrifar Coffee Man no corpo dele.

Coffee Woman, the pair of Coffee Man, both inspired by the coffee has the seductive ambery and vanillic appeal of perfumes more gustative, however it belongs to floral oriental family. The perfume was created by perfumer Hernán Figoli for women with strong personality and sensuality and opens an intense sweet floral with a combination highlighted by the exclusive coffee note by  O Boticário,  the Coffee Arabica.

The opening is not so dominated by the citrusy freshness of the bergamot, therefore the fruity undertones dominate much more the scent with the immediate floral gourmet featuring notes of orange blossom, coffee, amber and vanilla. In a fast way, the scent of classic Victoria's Secret fragrances as Amber Romance and Rapture comes to my memory, mainly Amber Romance  which has note of crème anglaise and touches of sandalwood and vanilla that "dialogue" with this type of warm, addictive and creamy base evoking also the ambery scent which is common in Coffee Woman. 

This desire of sniffing putting the nose into a  creamy and hot beverage made by coffee, milk, vanilla, sugar and others gustative ingredients delightfully aromatic transform Coffee Woman, to my olfaction, into a perfume similar to  fragrances like Amber Romance, indeed because of the english cream which blends vanilla nuances and the addictive milky smell immediately bringing the gourmet aspect of the mixed coffee beverages served in some Cafes.

Later, in drydown,  Coffee Woman loses its sweeter tone from the beginning and is kept lighter balanced by flowery nuances, despite that, the fragrance still is remarkable with a remarkable flower - the orange blossom which, particularly, doesn't present its best olfactive performance to balance the more relevant odour coming from ambery, vanilic and woody tones, all still annoying in some parts of the development.

Coffee Woman, as well as the male version does not bring a strong coffee note and this may be a little disappointing for some consumers, besides this reminiscent scent compared to ambery perfumes popularly known may surprise negatively some people. Comparing both, the female perfume is more linear with less variety of nuances, less rhythm, less enchantment. For those who adore fragrances following the style of VS Amber Romance, probably will enjoy spray this coffee on their skins. I still prefer to spray Coffee Man on his body.

Coffee Man é o novo perfume masculino de O Boticário inspirado em uma das bebidas mais tradicionais, consagradas e adoradas do mundo, o café. A empresa que já havia buscado inspiração no mundo dos vinhos com  as sofisticadas fragrâncias Malbec e Barolo, agora lança o perfume que é obtido a partir do processo de infusão de grãos nobres de um café  diferenciado  baseado na espécie Coffea Arábica e cultivada no interior de São Paulo na cidade de Itapira. 

O lançamento exclusivo vem a agregar uma identidade ainda maior na perfumaria nacional em valorizar as matérias primas brasileiras considerando que o país é o maior produtor mundial de graõs de café. O aspecto singular de lançar um perfume brasileiro   baseado em grãos de café selecionados do país, valorizando uma bebida que tem a cara do Brasil e que, ao mesmo tempo, é consumida e valorizada internacionalmente é a melhor qualidade deste lançamento, assim como o fez Thierry Mugler com seu Angel Pure Coffee.

A fragrância é para homens marcantes, sensuais e elegantes e tem a versatilidade de uso para dia e noite por conta do balanço entre o frescor e calor do mix.  Coffee Man é um perfume inspirado em grãos de café no entanto não tem cheiro de café, sendo feito a partir de um equilíbrio nas nuances quentes e densas de café, cardamomo, absoluto de íris e âmbar.  A saída tem um frescor sofisticado que, imediatamente, evoca o tom especiado de cardamomo e noz moscada. Estas envolventes notas orientais são bem destacadas antes  do nobre corpo floral de fundo oriental e impõe uma atratividade ao perfume como adicionar exóticos temperos à bebida, a tornando mais saborosa. Mais tarde, o perfume começa a se aquecer com  ambaradas nuances cremosas que personalizam um fundo marcante e sensual evocando o calor da bebida e sua qualidade gourmet. 

A vantagem da fragrância também sob o ponto de vista mais comercial é seu lado trendy, contrastante e equilibrado com corpo inicial fresco que é aquecido por especiarias de relevante aceitação pelo público masculino como noz moscada, cardamomo e pimenta  e que se intensifica com  a sensualidade quente de notas Bourbon tostadas, de âmbar e de ricas madeiras que trazem à memória o momento que cedemos ao calor e ao sabor de uma deliciosa bebida baseada em café e este lado envolvente de grãos finos de uma cafeteria luxuosa . Somado a isso, usar infusão de grãos de café para sugerir a bebida e enriquecer a fragrância com a valiosa combinação desta matéria prima com outras notas é uma idéia atraente para quem não quer cheirar um perfume de café, logo O Boticário "democratiza" o cheiro para aqueles que potencialmente poderiam assustar-se com um perfume inspirado neste ingrediente.

Por outro lado,  o cheiro de café mais sugestivo gera um desapontamento para aqueles que esperam um perfume mais "Starbuck-be" e mais gustativo. Em alguns momentos, Coffee Man dá a impressão de que falta um pouco mais de café para tornar o lançamento ainda mais verossímil. Apesar disso, ainda é uma nova e interessante opção na perfumaria local, louvável pela iniciativa de negócios de O Boticário.

Coffee Man is the new men's fragrance of O Boticário inspired by one of the most traditional, renowned and beloved beverages in the world, the coffee. The company had already searched for inspiration in the wine world through the sophisticated fragrances Malbec and Barolo, now they release the perfume which is obtained from the process of infusion of noble and distinctive coffee  beans based on a special class Coffea Arábica and cultivated in the countryside of São Paulo in the city of Itapira. 

The exclusive release comes to add value in the identity of the Brazilian perfumery in valorizing the local national raw materials considering that the country is the biggest world producer in coffee beans. The singular aspect of featuring a Brazilian perfume based in coffee note, praising the beverage that has the face of Brazil and which, at the same time, is consumed and valued internationally is the best quality of this release, as well as Thierry Mugler made releasing Angel Pure Coffee.

The fragrance is suitable for remarkable, sensual and elegant men and has the versatility of being worn in the day and in the night due to its balance between freshness and warmth.  Coffee Man is indeed a perfume inspired by coffee beans however it hasn't smelt coffee; it was composed from a balance between warm and dense notes of coffee, cardamom, iris absolute and amber. The opening has the sophisticated freshness which, immediately, evokes the spicy tones of cardamom and nutmeg. These enveloping oriental notes  are well highlighted before the noble floral core of oriental bottom and imposes  an attractiveness in the perfume as adding exotic flavor in the beverage, becoming it tastier. Later the perfume starts to warm up with creamy ambery nuances which personalize the remarkable and sensual base evoking the  warmth of the coffee and its gourmet quality. 

The pro of the fragrance, mainly under the commercial point of view is its trendy, contrasting and balanced mix with an initial fresh opening which is warmed up by spices of relevant acceptance by the male audience such as nutmeg, cardamom and pepper and which is intensified by the allurement effect of toasted Bourbon, amber and woods notes that bring to the memory the moment we devote ourselves to the hot flavor of the delightful beverage associated to coffee and this enveloping sensation of tasting its fine beans in a luxury Cafe. Besides, using coffee beans infusion to suggest this beverage and enrich the fragrance with a valuable combination of this raw material with others notes is an attractive idea for those who don't want smell like a self-confessed coffee perfume addict, therefore O Boticário "democratizes" the scent for those who potentially would be terrified by a coffee based fragrance.

On the other hand, the coffee scent more suggestive may generate a disappointment in those who expect(ed) a more "Starbuck-be" and gustative fragrance. In some moments,  Coffee Man gives the impression that there is a lack of a little more coffee. Despite that, the fragrance is still a new interesting option, praiseworthy by the O Boticário business initiative.
