Dior Homme(Dior) foi criado em 2005 pelo perfumista Olivier Polge que teve um desafiador trabalho nesta fragrância. Primeiro porque Dior Homme abre como nota principal a íris, muito pouco usada na perfumeria masculina em função de seu caráter atalcado e, por causa disso, vítima do preconceito daqueles que odeiam, em suas peles, cheiro que lembre talco como Guerlain Shalimar. Segundo porque Dior Homme tem um aroma sutil e delicado, não feminino mas prefiro dizer que não é forte e selvagem. Na verdade, há uma máscara sensível e sofisticada na fragrância que, de forma versátil, pode ser usado por ambos os sexos.


A fragrância é uma combinação de íris coberta por notas de lavanda, sálvia, cardamono, cacau, vetiver, âmbar, patchouli e couro e o conceito é baseado em um perfume para homens que representam a nova geração: clássica e também moderna, mantendo o equilíbrio entre a tradição e a vanguarda daqueles que são perfumadamente elegantes, não somente quando usam uma fragrância como Dior Homme mas também que têm um comportamento de pura e excepcional sofisticação.

Dior Homme(Dior) was created in 2005 for the parfumer Olivier Polge who has a challeging work on this fragrance. Firstly, because Dior Homme features as main note the Iris, not very used in the male perfumery and very known for its powdery fragrant characteristic and, because of it, victim of some prejudice for those who really hate some powder smell on the skin which remind them of fragrances as Guerlain Shalimar . Second because Dior Homme has a subtle and delicate scent, not feminine but I prefer to say that is not strongly wild. Indeed, there is a sophisticated and sensitive mask on this fragrance that is very versatile for both sexies.


The fragrance is a combination of iris enveloped by notes of lavender, sage, cardamon,cacao,amber, vetiver, patchouli and leather and the concept is based on a perfume for men who represent the new generation: classic and also modern, keeping the balance between the tradition and the avant-guarde of those who are smelly elegant, not only wearing a fragrance as Dior Homme but also having a behaviour of pure and outstanding sophistication.

Dior Homme features a fresh and powdery scents , very well-blended, that create a tension between the lightness of the natural men and sobriety of formal men. Smelling the first vestige of the fragrance, the iris is there, trying to cover with dust the skin and make it very serious and as old as the classics. However some notes , mainly lavender and its relaxing property and sage and cardamon which spice the fragrance bring some spontaneous charm for men, very contemporaneous and soft, with spicy and incense undertones which also balance the strenght of woody notes on the base and the discrete smoothness of the cacao.


It is important to mention that when the iris is involved by the lavender , this combination separates and joins, contradictorily,the power of Dior Homme. The lavender relaxes the formality but not places the man as a sport man, focused on a citrus or very informal fragrant approach, so it collaborates to the classicism of the fragrance, avoiding the secundary effect of the iris. The iris also, with this combination, carries the skin odour to the leathery accord, not rustic as this note works on others based-leather fragrances.


There is no doubts that Dior Homme is a well-done fragrance in comparison to the simple-minded male perfumes released on the perfumery industry. The best of all is that the fragrance keeps a logical implementation between Dior Homme by itself and the designer's description.
