Menthe Fraîche é uma das fragrâncias eau de parfum de James Helley, o designer britânico residente em Paris que, além de instalar seu próprio estúdio na capital francesa com obras que vão desde vasos até móveis e acessórios, também introduziu nove fragrâncias além de outros produtos perfumados como velas e locões para banho. Tudo um luxo e muito clean, minimalista avec elegance. Menthe Fraîche, uma delicada e fresca combinação de notas de folhas de menta, bergamota da Sicília,mate, lôtus e cedro branco não é uma fragrância qualquer, tem a sutileza rara das fragrâncias frescas que parecem tocar a pele como um vento que acaricia o rosto em um ardente verão.
Imagine uma mulher cosmopolita como eu, em uma cidade urbana e louca como São Paulo; desejosa de refrescar meu corpo com uma fragrância que não seja aquelas que são frescas mas que, ironicamente, parecem preparar a pele para a combustão, prestes a ser corroída abrasivamente pelo alcóol e a artificialidade das notas olfativas. Além disso, quero sentir a naturalidade de um perfume que me lembre campos serenos ou a brisa da praia , mas que não faça imaginar-me com um vestido florido e bucólico ou um biquíni em pleno requinte dos grandes centros. Enfim, descobri que eu desejo simplesmente um Heeley EDP, um cheiro estilo galeria de arte, um cheiro que é como o dito por Heeley fragrances "fresco, como um jardim de menta".
Embora eu não seja ultra fã de menta(prefiro refrescar-me com hortelã em mojitos irresistíveis), fiquei surpresa ao experimentar Menthe Fraîche. Uma saída mentolada muito natural, nada abrasiva que, por um milagre Heeleyiano não parece anti-séptico bucal ou, pior, pasta de dente. A saída de menta tem um frescor com cheiro "controlado" que é marcado por uma estabilidade da menta envolta em notas de chá que, simultaneamente, atuam com ela nos primeiros vinte minutos de fragrância, dando ao perfume uma característica de provar uma infusão fria de folhas verdes. É interessante notar que, embora a menta seja muito volátil, a sensação de estar cheirando um chá mentolado, em alguns momentos, quase infuso em folhas de limoeiro, quase transformado em uma imaginária flor, é deliciosa . Na minha pele, é evidente muito mais um chá mate do que chá verde, no entanto a beleza desta reminiscência de chá, não importa qual seja é, exatamente ,a delicadeza das folhas ligeiramente alimentando a fragrância com a naturalidade de quem toma um chá em um café de uma grande cidade.
Quando verifiquei que o studio de James e a Heeley fragrances fica na Passager du Désir, em Paris, lembrei-me de uma das minhas aulas de literatura alemã, quando estudei sobre a estética de fragmentos e Schlegel em aulas e aulas aquecidas pelo calor infernal das abafadas salas da universidade. Se tivesse conhecido Menthe Fraîche na época, iria refrescar minha cabeça através do meu olfato, mediante o que tema e o tempo faziam ao meu organismo. Tive que realizar um trabalho sobre as passagers de Paris, que são formas de fragmentos em vários âmbitos da sociedade parisiense.Lembrei-me das lojas, galerias e cafés que existem nestas passagers em plena elegância francesa entre o over e o minimalista, lá as diversas artes plantam a sua semente: o designer de moda, de móveis, de perfumes , todos eles cercados pelas arquiteturas destes fragmentos e, entre os pensamentos passados das aulas de literatura ,meus pensamentos atuais se fragmentaram em várias lembranças, suavemente. Viajei no tempo e neste aroma cuja origem encontra-se em uma das passagers. De repente, Menthe Fraîche tornou-se o meu próprio desejo, em uma passagem de verão.

For those who wish to refresh the bodies during this burning brazilian summer, in a very elegant manner, or for those who are enjoying a cold season and wish the refined lightness of a fragrance which can be a relaxing company as drinking a flavoured tea, there is Menthe Fraîche of Heeley Fragrances a good option only for few people: those ones that really are lovers of mint with the opening of green notes and, a floral aspect almost impercetible, but with an outstanding quality.
Menthe Fraîche is one of the EDP fragrances of James Helley, the British designer who lives in Paris ; besides having founded his studio in the french capital with design pieces that are ,since vases until furniture and accessories; he also introduced a range of nine fragrances and fragrant products such as candles and body washes. Everything is a luxury and very clean, minimalist avec elegance. Menthe Fraîche, a delicate and fresh combination of notes of mint leaves, Sicilian bergamot, maté, lotus and white cedar is not any fragrance, it has the rare subtleness of fresh fragrances which seem to touch the skin as the wind that caresses the face during a blazing summer.
Imagine a cosmopolita woman as me, in a urban and crazy city as São Paulo, and wish to refresh my body with a fragrance that is not as those which are fresh but also, ironically, seem to prepare the skin to a combustion, on the point to be corroded abrasively by the alcohol and the artificiality of the olfactory notes . Moreover I wish to feel the naturality of a perfume that would make me remember of serene fields or the breeze that comes from the beach, but on the same time that would not make me think that I was dressing a flowery and bucolic dress or a bikini in the refinement of the big city centers. Finally, I discover that I wish only a Heeley EDP, a scent that folllows an art gallery style, a scent that it can be said about exaclty what Heeley fragrances say "simply fresh as a mint garden".
Even tough I am not an ultra fan of mint ( I prefer to refresh me with peppermint in some irresistible mojitos), the fragrance was a surprise when I sampled it. A mint opening , very natural, nothing abrasive that, for a miracle by Heeley, the fragrance does not seem those oral /buccal anti-septic or, worst, teethpaste. The initial mint note has a freshness with a "controlled " smell that is marked for one stability enveloped by the tea notes which, simultaneously, are in action together with the mint in the first twenty minutes of development; that provides to the fragrance an characteristic of tasting a cold infusion of green leaves. It is interesting to notice that , altough the mint is a very volatile note, the sensation of smelling a minted tea, in some moments, infused in lemmon tree leaves, which is almost an imaginary lemmon flower, is delicious. On my skin, it is more evident the smell of mate tea than the green one, however the beauty of this tea reminiscence , no matter what is, is the delicateness of the leaves that slightly feed the fragrance with the naturality of someone that drinks a tea in a café of a big city.
When I verified that the James' studio and Heeley fragrances is placed on the Passager du Désir, in Paris, I reminded me of one of my german literature classes , when I studied about the aesthetics of the fragments and Schlegel during classes and classes burned by an evil warmth in the heated classrooms of the university. If I had known Menthe Fraîche that time, I would be able to refresh my mind through my olfaction wearning it , in front of what the theme and the weather were doing to my body. I remember that I had to do a paper about the passagers of Paris, they are forms of fragments in many fields of the parisian society. I reminded me of the stores, galleries and cafes that exist in those passagers, involved by the french charm between the over and the minimalist, there the diverse arts plant their seeds: the fashion designer, the furniture designer, the perfume designer are enclosed by the architecture of those fragments and, among the past thoughts of the literature classes my present thoughts are fragmented in many memories, softly. I traveled in the time and in this scent whose origin is found in one of these passagers. Suddently, Menthe Fraîche became my desire, in one summer passage.
